(FINDLAY, Ohio) – Walsh dropped another tight contest to Findlay by a score of 5-4 at YMCA East on Sunday morning. The Cavaliers dropped to 6-9 overall and 1-3 in the conference, while the Oilers improved to 6-9 overall and 3-1 in the G-MAC.
The Cavs improved upon last week's singles matchups against Findlay, but this time Walsh faced an early deficit after losing all three doubles contests. The closest matchup came at third doubles, but Jonah Carter and Heitor Adegas were edged by Sergio Palacio and Trevor Majdalani 8-6.
In singles play, Vasily Vidmanov, Carter, Adegas, and Guilherme Carneiro all took home wins. Vidmanov won at first singles with a 7-6, 6-0 decision over Nicholas Kopylec. Carter won his matchup with Ivaylo Slavov 6-4, 7-5 at fourth singles. Adegas also had a close matchup in the five-spot with Palacio and won 6-4, 7-6. Carneiro was impressive in his win with a 6-2, 6-4 decision over Majdalani at sixth singles.
The Cavs will take a break from G-MAC play in their next match, but remain on the road to take on Mercyhurst Thursday at noon.
