Cavs Fall to Nationally Ranked Ferris State

(BIG RAPIDS, Mich.) – In a match between two of the top ranked teams in the region, nationally ranked No. 36 Ferris State took an 8-1 win over Walsh in GLIAC action today. The Cavaliers (11-10, 4-3) recently received their first regional ranking at No. 10 while the Bulldogs (18-4, 8-0) are ranked No. 3.

Ferris State's win also clinched at least a share of the regular season championship.

The lone point for the Cavaliers came at the No. 2 doubles spot where Pablo Cabezon and Carlos Jaque fought to the wire and defeated the duo of Till von Winning and Daniil Tarantinov 8-6.

Jaque was close to scoring a second point for the Cavaliers in singles action at No. 5 against Tarantinov, but fell in three sets 6-4, 4-6, 10-7.

Walsh will complete the regular season at Grand Valley Sunday at 10 a.m.
