Men's Tennis Ends Spring Break Contests at Florida Tech

(MELBOURNE, Fla.) – It was a tough outing for the Walsh men's tennis team as it fell to hosting Florida Tech 8-1 in its final spring break match Tuesday morning. The Cavaliers fall to 4-5 on the season. The Panthers improve to 8-4.

The Cavs' lone point came at the No. 2 doubles spot as Pablo Cabezon and Carlos Jaque took an 8-4 decision over Florida Tech's pairing of Aria Canadell and Tjimon Louisy. Ross Whitaker and Vasiliy Vidmanov were competitive at the first doubles contest, but eventually fell 8-5.

Singles matches were largely controlled by the Panthers. Jaque came the closest to taking a set, but fell at No. 5 singles 6-3, 6-2.

The Cavaliers return to action in a couple of weeks in the GLIAC/GLVC Crossover event. It will be held on Thursday, March 24, through Saturday, March 26, and will be hosted by Lewis University.
