Cornwall's Hot Start Earns Him G-MAC Honors

(INDIANAPOLIS) – The first week of the season couldn't have gone much better for junior forward Myles Cornwall. Walsh's leading scorer who amassed 24 points during the 2017 season tallied a third of that over the Cavaliers first two games in wins over Daemen and Roberts Wesleyan.

As a result, Cornwall was tabbed as the G-MAC's first Offensive Player of the Week after compiling three goals and two assists on the opening weekend. Cornwall narrowly edged out teammate Dwight Van Dyke for the accolades as the two led the conference in points through the first week of competition.

Cornwall scored early and often to put the Maroon and Gold ahead in both contests with two of his goals ending up as the game-winners.

Cornwall, Van Dyke, and the rest of the Cavaliers will attempt to keep the momentum going on the upward trend as they start conference play tomorrow at Lake Erie. Kickoff with the Storm is set for 7 p.m. at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium.
