(ERIE, Pa.) - The Walsh University men's lacrosse team traveled to Mercyhurst to take on the Lakers this afternoon at Tullio Field. The Cavs fell 19-8, moving their overall record to 3-8 and conference record to 2-2.
Marcus Brown scored the first goal of the game in the 12th minute of the first quarter, but the Lakers rattled off seven consecutive goals throughout the remainder of the quarter. The Lakers outscored the Cavaliers in all four quarters, 7-1, 3-2, 4-2, and 5-3.
Kevin McMahon led the Cavalier offense with three goals on the day, while Brown scored two goals. Brian Apshago, Brent Mitchell, and Jake Cieszynski each scored one goal. Cieszynski also assisted on one goal and picked up a team-best nine ground balls.
Cavalier goalie Noah Ross had 10 saves on the day and picked up five ground balls.
Caleb Kueber led the Lakers with seven goals, while Devin Pipher led in assists with five.
Walsh will play at Seton Hill on Tuesday (April 16) at 4:00 PM.
