The Walsh University men's basketball team kicks off their season the weekend of Nov. 9-10 at Maryville University with the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) / Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) crossover tournament. The Cavaliers will face Missouri St. Louis on Friday, Nov. 9 and Maryville, who finished 20-8 last season, on Saturday, Nov. 10.
The Cavaliers host Franciscan University for their home opener on Tuesday, Nov. 13. They open up conference play on Thursday, Nov. 29 against Ohio Dominican.
The Cavs conclude the 2018 portion of their season with a 4-game G-MAC road trip, starting with Findlay, who was last season's conference champion, on Thursday, Dec. 6. The Cavaliers will then take on Hillsdale, who completed a strong season with an NCAA appearance last year. They finish the 4-game trip at Kentucky Wesleyan (12/13) and Trevecca Nazarene (12/15). Both programs welcome new coaches this season.
Walsh returns home on Thursday, Jan. 3 to battle new G-MAC member, Tiffin. The Cavaliers and Dragons are familiar foes, as they were both previous members of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
The G-MAC Conference Tournament is scheduled for Mar. 7-9 and the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Tournament will be held on Mar. 16-19.
