(PAINESVILLE, Ohio) – Walsh fell in its regular season finale with a 67-60 defeat at Lake Erie in Great Midwest Athletic Conference action on Thursday evening. The Cavaliers (19-7, 14-6) had its four-game win streak snapped at the hands of the Storm (14-13, 9-10) and must wait until Saturday's Findlay-Hillsdale game to learn its tournament seed.
The Cavaliers put themselves in a position to win midway through the second half as an 18-4 run gave them a 58-54 lead with 5:07 to go in the game. However Lake Erie then went on a hot streak and closed the game on a 13-2 run.
Chandler Vaudrin and Sterling Christy were the only double-figure scorers for the Cavs and were both limited to 10 points each. Both players also pulled down seven rebounds to pace the Maroon and Gold.
The Storm was led by Gabe Kynard who totaled a game-high 16 points. Erron James added 14. Lamont Rhodes pulled down a game-high eight rebounds.
The Cavaliers move onto the G-MAC Tournament next week at top-seed Findlay. Seedings will be released Saturday evening.
