(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Chandler Vaudrin made history with his second triple-double of the season and Bo Furcron exploded for 32 points as Walsh crushed Ohio Valley 118-77 Thursday evening. It was the final game before Christmas for the Cavaliers (6-3, 3-2) and improved to 7-0 all-time against the Fighting Scots (1-5, 0-3).
The triple-double is just the fourth in program history as he joined Jeremy Shardo and Brad DuPont as the only players to achieve the feat.
Furcron enjoyed a big day as well with his season-best 32 points on 8-of-14 from the field. He was 4-of-6 behind the arc and was perfect on all 12 attempts from the charity stripe. His first half numbers alone were impressive as he already scored a season-best 27 points in the opening period alone.
Overall it was the second-best shooting night for the Cavaliers this season as they made 57.1 percent of their shots. It was the best game behind the arc for Walsh as it sank 11-of-22 triples in the game.
Two other starters reached double-figures with Sterling Christy and Andy Lucien both doing so. Christy recorded his third double-double of the season with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Lucien was a rebound shy joining him after dropping in 17 points.
Walsh dominated from start to finish and led almost the entire way. The Cavs out-rebounded Ohio Valley 49-20 which led to a 21-6 advantage in second-chance points. Bench play also helped the Cavs as they outscored OVU 34-8 in that department.
The Cavs are now off until Saturday, Dec. 30, when they host a familiar rival in Cedarville. Tip-off with the Yellow Jackets is set for 1 p.m.
