Men's Basketball Defeated At Hillsdale

(HILLSDALE, Mich.) – A strong second-half surge by Hillsdale doomed Walsh as it fell by a score of 73-63 on the road Saturday afternoon. The Cavaliers dropped to 5-3 overall and 2-2 in the G-MAC, while the Chargers improved to 9-2 and 3-1 in the same categories.

The Cavs had the early momentum as they jumped out to a 14-2 lead thanks to a pair of Conner Wess 3-pointers. Walsh extended its lead to 25-9 just under 10 minutes into the game. Hillsdale closed the gap slightly, but Walsh was able to go into the halftime break with a 42-33 lead.

After the break, the Chargers took charge and went on a 12-2 run for their first lead of the game. Walsh quickly regained the lead with a Sterling Christy layup to make the score 46-45, but Hillsdale answered with a 3-pointer to take the lead back and held it the rest of the way.

Chandler Vaudrin led the way for the Cavaliers with 17 points and eight rebounds. Wess finished the day with 11 points. Darryl Straughter rounded out the trio of double-figure scorers with 10 points.
