First G-MAC Game Set With Senators On Thursday

(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – A new era will take place tomorrow when Walsh hosts Davis & Elkins on the hard wood as it will be the first Great Midwest Athletic Conference game for the Cavaliers. While the conference new, the opponent isn't entirely, but the two haven't met since the 2003-04 season.

That year the Cavs defeated the Senators 66-57. Overall Davis & Elkins leads the all-time series 4-1 with all four wins coming between 1974 and 1982.

This year's first encounter will feature two of the top scoring teams in the G-MAC. The Cavs (3-1) enter as the top scoring team with an average of 96.5 points per game through four contests. The Senators (1-3) are third in the conference with 82.8 points per game.

Both squads are also the best teams in the conference in rebounding. Walsh leads the G-MAC with 44.5 rebounds per game with the Senators just behind the Cavs with 42.5.

Chandler Vaudrin has come into his own as one of the top leaders on a young team and currently leads the team with a field goal percentage of .609, second-best in the conference. The Sens' Edmund Parker is in the shadows in third with .605.

Tip-off will take place at 5:30 p.m. with the women set to conclude the doubleheader at 7:30 p.m.
