    In the penultimate non-conference game of the regular season, Walsh defeated a scrappy Bluefield State squad by a 75-63 decision on Martin Luther King Day. It was a block party of sorts as the Cavaliers (10-4) and Big Blues (4-11) combined for 20 swats on the day.

    Walsh’s four-game win streak was snapped at the hands of a hot-shooting Lake Erie squad in an 83-79 decision at Alumni Arena on Saturday afternoon. The Cavaliers dropped to 9-4 overall and 6-3 in the conference, while the Storm improved to 10-7 and 5-4 in the same categories.
  • Balanced Attack, Vaudrin's Triple-Double Leads Walsh By Trevecca

    Five players scored in double-figures and Chandler Vaudrin recorded his third triple-double of the season as Walsh completed the first weekend of the new year with a 80-65 victory over Trevecca. It was the first game ever between the Cavaliers (9-3, 6-2) and Trojans (2-13, 1-6).

    In its first meeting ever with the historic Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers, it was the Walsh Cavaliers that came away with a 79-69 victory. The Cavs improved to 8-3 overall and 5-2 in the conference, while Wesleyan dropped to 9-6 and 4-2 in the same categories.
  • Men's Basketball Beats Cedarville 76-65

    Solid shooting and a strong defensive effort helped Walsh defeat long-time rival Cedarville 76-65 in its first game back since the Christmas break. The Cavaliers (7-3, 4-2) led from start to finish, but a scrappy Yellow Jacket (6-6, 1-4) squad remained competitive throughout the contest.
  • Furcron, Vaudrin Lead Charge In Blowout of OVU

    Chandler Vaudrin made history with his second triple-double of the season and Bo Furcron exploded for 32 points as Walsh crushed Ohio Valley 118-77 Thursday evening. It was the final game before Christmas for the Cavaliers (6-3, 3-2) and improved to 7-0 all-time against the Fighting Scots (1-5, 0-3).
  • Men's Basketball Defeated At Hillsdale

    A strong second-half surge by Hillsdale doomed Walsh as it fell by a score of 73-63 on the road Saturday afternoon. The Cavaliers dropped to 5-3 overall and 2-2 in the G-MAC, while the Chargers improved to 9-2 and 3-1 in the same categories.
  • Cavs Fall In High-Scoring Affair With Findlay

    Walsh found itself on the bottom end of a high-scoring affair with Findlay by the score of 96-87 at Croy Gymnasium on Thursday evening. Both teams shot exceptionally well with the Cavaliers (5-2, 2-1) shooting 50 percent, but the Oilers (8-2, 3-0) made 58.2 percent in return.
  • Vaudrin Named G-MAC Player of the Week

    After the third week of the season, Walsh’s Chandler Vaudrin has been named the G-MAC’s Men’s Basketball Player of the Week on Monday. It’s the first Player of the Week honors for Walsh in the new conference.
  • Cavs Cap Perfect Opening Weekend With Win vs. AB

    Walsh wrapped a perfect opening weekend of conference play with a 72-61 victory over Alderson Broaddus Saturday afternoon. The Cavaliers are now 5-1 overall and 2-0 at the conclusion of their six-game home stand to start the year. The Battlers fell to 5-2 and 1-1 in league play.
  • Walsh Wins G-MAC Debut vs. Davis & Elkins
    November 30, 2017
    It was a successful debut for Walsh as it defeated Davis & Elkins 67-57 in its first G-MAC game in program history. The Cavaliers improved to 4-1 overall on the season while the Senators, who were also playing in their G-MAC opener, dropped to 1-4.
  • First G-MAC Game Set With Senators On Thursday

    A new era will take place tomorrow when Walsh hosts Davis & Elkins on the hard wood as it will be the first Great Midwest Athletic Conference game for the Cavaliers. While the conference new, the opponent isn’t entirely, but the two haven’t met since the 2003-04 season.
  • Cavs Bounce Previously Unbeaten Warriors 87-68

    In northeast Ohio, when the Cavaliers and Warriors meet on a basketball court something exciting usually happens. The case was no different in Alumni Arena Monday night when Walsh used a second-half surge to defeat Indiana Tech 87-68.
  • Cavs Crush Carlow 114-61

    Walsh breezed its way back into the win column with a 114-61 thrashing of Carlow in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon. The two schools used to be former conference rivals back in the days of the AMC, but this was the first meeting between the Cavaliers (2-1) and Celtics (0-3) in men’s basketball.
  • Cavs Clipped By Northwood In OT

    Walsh lost in a nail-biter to former conference foe Northwood by a score of 88-85 in overtime on Saturday afternoon. The Cavaliers dropped to 1-1 with the loss, while the Timberwolves improved to 2-1.
  • Vaudrin's Triple-Double Leads Cavs In Season Opening Blowout

    Almost everything went as good as you could imagine for Walsh in its 100-53 thrashing of Ohio Christian in its season opener. The Cavaliers shot an incredible 63.2 percent from the field, had 12 different players score, and Chandler Vaudrin recorded just the second triple-double in program history.
  • Cavs Sink Purple Raiders In Exhibition Play

    Chandler Vaudrin’s 29 points led Walsh in 91-80 victory over fellow Stark County college Mount Union in exhibition play Tuesday evening. The Cavaliers and Purple Raiders met at Alumni Arena to raise money for the Red Cross hurricane relief efforts.
  • Walsh, Mount Union To Meet In Exhibition For Hurricane Relief

    The Walsh men’s basketball team will get an early preview as it hosts Mount Union for an exhibition tomorrow night. The Stark County showdown will be used to raise money for hurricane relief with 100 percent of the money collected being donated to that effort. Tip-off is scheduled for 7.

  • Men's Basketball Selected Fifth in G-MAC Preseason Poll
    October 18, 2017
    The Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Preseason Coaches’ Poll presented by Under Armour has been released and Walsh has been selected tied for fifth in the 12-team league. The Cavaliers received 77 points in the voting along with Ohio Dominican.
  • Men's Basketball Hosting Night At The Races

    The Walsh men's basketball team will be hosting its fifth-annual "Night at the Races" on Saturday, Oct. 14, in the Barrette Business Center. The cost is $40 per ticket which includes a reception and dinner.

  • Hacke Joins Men's Basketball Coaching Staff

    The Walsh men’s basketball team has hired Kevin Hacke as the new full-time assistant for the Cavaliers for the upcoming 2017-18 season. He joins the Cavs’ coaching staff after spending two years as a graduate assistant for the Penn State men’s basketball team.
