  • Eleven Named To G-MAC All Conference Teams

    (INDIANAPOLIS) - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has released its All Conference selections for the 2018 football season and 10 Cavaliers have been spotlighted. Koby Adu-Poku and Leondre Crosby were named First Team All Conference. Morgan Trust, Rikwon Moore and Stephen Baugh were given Second Team honors. Honorable Mention awards were given to Kasey Tingler, Hunter Polk, Macklin Coleman, O'Shea Heard and Nick Sanchez. 
  • Cavaliers Edge Battlers in Barnburner 42-39

    A Nick Gassman 2-yard run with 57 seconds left lifted Walsh over Alderson Broaddus for a 42-39 victory on Senior Day at Tom Benson Saturday. The Cavaliers (3-6, 3-4) and Battlers (3-7, 2-5) exchanged leads six times in the shootout, including five times in the second half.
  • Walsh Falls To Findlay 24-18

    Walsh was edged by Findlay 24-16 in its final true road game of the season at Donnell Stadium on Saturday. The Cavaliers dropped to 2-5 overall and 2-3 in the G-MAC, while the Oilers improved to 5-3 and 3-2.
  • Homecoming Night Spoiled By Hillsdale

    Fighting the elements, Walsh gave the G-MAC’s first place team all it could, but eventually fell to Hillsdale 28-9 Saturday evening. The Cavaliers dropped to 2-5 overall and 2-3 in the conference, while the Chargers improved to 7-1 and 6-0 in the same categories.
  • Cavs Host Hillsdale For Homecoming

    Coming off of one of the best defensive performances by anyone in the nation, Walsh welcomes Hillsdale to Tom Benson Stadium for Homecoming weekend. The Cavaliers (2-4, 2-2 G-MAC) most recently defeated Lake Erie 29-0 on Saturday evening, while the Chargers (6-1, 5-0 G-MAC) lead the conference standings after a 45-24 victory over Alderson Broaddus.
  • Cavs Shutout Storm

    A dominant defense helped Walsh to its first shutout since joining the NCAA in a 29-0 blanking of Lake Erie at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium on Saturday evening. The Cavaliers (2-4, 2-2) allowed the Storm (0-7, 0-5) just 31 yards of total offense in their first shutout since 2011.

    Walsh will attempt to get back to .500 in the G-MAC as it heads north to take on Lake Erie under the lights at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium on Saturday. The Cavaliers enter this week 1-4 overall and 1-2 in the conference, while the Storm are looking for their first win of the season at 0-6 and 0-4.
  • Walsh Battles ODU Tough, But Falls 20-10

    Walsh shutout a high-powered Ohio Dominican team in the second half, but couldn’t overcome an early deficit in a 20-10 defeat at Tom Benson Stadium Saturday evening. The Panthers (5-1, 3-1) jumped out to a 20-point lead and held off a Cavaliers (1-4, 1-2) rally in the second half.

    As the season has progressed, so has Walsh’s football team as the Cavaliers have gotten better with each game. Now the Maroon and Gold (1-3, 1-1) prepares for perhaps their toughest opponent to date in Ohio Dominican (4-1, 2-1).
  • Shellenbarger Named G-MAC Defensive Player of the Week

    Marcus Shellenbarger has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference’s Defensive Player of the Week after helping Walsh to its first victory of the season. The defensive lineman from Mt. Vernon finished the game with six tackles, 2.5 of which were quarterback sacks, and forced and recovered a fumble in the Cavaliers’ 23-17 win at Kentucky Wesleyan.
  • Fast Start Helps Cavs, Coach Fankhauser Get First Win

    Head Coach John Fankhauser has his first win of his career as the leading man of a football program as Walsh took down Kentucky Wesleyan 23-17 on Saturday afternoon. The Cavaliers (1-3, 1-1) jumped out to a 17-0 lead after the first quarter and held on as the Panthers (2-3, 1-2) chipped at the lead the rest of the way.
  • Cavs Search For First Win Of Season Once Again vs. Kentucky Wesleyan

    Coming off of its best game of the season, Walsh hits the road to Kentucky Wesleyan for the fourth game of the season. The Cavaliers (0-3, 0-1) took Tiffin to the limit last Saturday before suffering a 27-20 loss at the hands of the Dragons. The Panthers (2-2, 1-1) are also entering the weekend on an upswing as they won their second consecutive contest with a 44-38 decision over Malone.
  • Time Runs Out On Cavs Comeback vs. Tiffin

    It came down to the final minutes, but Walsh was unable to take down Tiffin as it fell 27-20 in its G-MAC opener at Tom Benson Stadium on Saturday. The Cavaliers (0-3, 0-1) played their best game of the season and had the unbeaten Dragons (4-0, 2-0) on their heels in the fourth, but a drive late in the fourth stalled and the visitors were able to run out the clock.
  • Hurricane Florence Forces Football Cancellation For Cavaliers

    This weekend’s football game between Walsh and Jacksonville has been cancelled because of the impending weather from Hurricane Florence. The Cavaliers were scheduled to leave for Florida today for Saturday’s 1 p.m. kickoff with the Dolphins.

    The home opener for Walsh didn’t go as well as hoped for in a 41-10 loss to Saginaw Valley State at Tom Benson Stadium on a rainy Saturday afternoon. The Cavaliers (0-2) played close with the Cardinals (2-0) for the first half of the game, but the visitors eventually pulled away.

    The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Football Preseason Coaches Poll presented by Under Armour for 2018 has been released and Walsh has been selected to finish fifth. The Cavaliers received 34 points in the nine-team field.

  • Spring Game Scheduled For Saturday

    The spring practice season will come to a close for the Walsh football team this Saturday as the Cavaliers host their annual Maroon and Gold game at Vasco Field. Fans will be able to get their first look at the 2018 team when they take the field at 2 p.m.
