(PAINESVILLE, Ohio) – There will be a lot riding on the line when Walsh and Lake Erie meet at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium in G-MAC action on Saturday afternoon. Both the Cavaliers and the Storm are 2-3 in the conference, meaning fourth place and a spot in the top half of the standings is on the line.
The Cavaliers and Storm are still someone new to each other as the series began back in 2012. Since then the teams have met three additional times, but did not play last year because of the pod set-up in the GLIAC. Now that both teams have moved to the G-MAC, yearly battles resume.
The last meeting between the two came in 2015 at Tom Benson Stadium with Lake Erie taking a 34-33 victory in overtime.
Both teams have beat the same common opponents in Kentucky Wesleyan and Alderson Broaddus. Walsh defeated the Panthers 56-29 and followed up with a 38-36 win against the Battlers. The Storm defeated KWC 45-27 last week and AB 16-15 in September.
Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. with video provided on Stretch Internet.
