(CANTON, Ohio) – Walsh fell in its first Great Midwest Athletic Conference contest to Findlay by a score of 47-3 at Tom Benson Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Cavaliers are now 0-5 on the season while the Oilers, also playing in their conference opener, are now 4-1.
Walsh was able to answer Findlay's opening touchdown drive with its only points of the game. Kalvin Gordon set up the score as he busted another big play with a 50-yard run down to the Findlay 30-yard line.
The Cavaliers eventually scored on Kasey Tingler's 43-yard field goal, just a yard shy of tying his own conference-best distance.
Unfortunately for the Cavs, Findlay was able to answer quickly with another touchdown 33 seconds later and kept the pressure on the rest of the way.
Walsh heads on the road once again next week as it heads to Kentucky Wesleyan. Kickoff with the Panthers is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Owensboro.
